Service 07 · Tech consulting
A senior technical brain on demand.
For the decisions that are hard to undo: architecture, build-vs-buy, hiring, and rescuing projects that went sideways.
No slide decks for their own sake. You get clear recommendations, the reasoning behind them, and someone who has built these systems before.
How we help
Decisions you won’t regret
Architecture & code reviews
An outside look at your system design before it gets too expensive to change.
e.g. a decision memo with options and trade-offs
Build-vs-buy assessments
Build it, buy it, or combine both? We compare cost, risk and lock-in.
e.g. a clear recommendation with the numbers behind it
Fractional CTO
Part-time technical leadership for roadmaps, vendors, hiring and investor questions.
e.g. a few days a month of senior tech leadership
Project rescue
When a project is late, over budget or stuck, we find out why and get it moving.
e.g. a recovery plan within the first week
Hiring & team setup
Role definitions, technical interviews and team structure for your first engineers.
e.g. interviews that test real work
Specs & vendor selection
Writing specs, comparing agency offers and keeping vendors accountable.
e.g. comparable offers instead of apples and oranges
Good fit if
- A big technical decision is coming and you lack in-house expertise
- A project is late, over budget or unclear
- You're about to hire your first engineers
- Investors or partners ask technical questions you can't answer yet
Probably not if
- You want someone to confirm a decision that's already made
- You need a full-time employee, not an advisor
- There's no willingness to change course
- You only need hands-on development (see custom web apps)

Fair questions
How does an engagement work?
Book a single day, a sprint or a monthly retainer. We start with a short call to define the question and what a good answer looks like.
Do you also implement?
We can - but advice comes first and stands on its own. There's no hidden agenda to sell you a build.
What does a fractional CTO do?
Roadmap and architecture decisions, vendor and hiring support, and being the technical voice in leadership meetings - a few days a month.
Can you help with due diligence?
Yes - preparing your technical story and documentation, or reviewing a target's technology on the investor side.
What does it cost?
Advisory is billed by the hour or day, agreed upfront. Retainers have a fixed monthly fee.
Week zero starts with one call
